The tour will start between 8:00 and 8:30 in La Paz: depending on your location, we can pick you up directly from your accommodation or meet with you at a place of reference in the center. From there we will move to the city of Tiwanaku: the trip takes approximately 2 hours.

Then we will enter the archaeological site and begin the visit through its ruins. Then we will have a short break for lunch before continuing our visit to local museums: travellers can choose to bring their own food or eat at a local restaurant.
Then we will return to La Paz: the tour ends in the center of La Paz at approx. 5 pm.

Tiwanaku ruins (half day)
From La Paz, you will be driven to Tiwanaku. Throughout the drive you will observe countless highlands and pass through Aymara communities getting the chance to observe their way of life.
Arriving at Tiwanaku you are given some historical facts and it is explained show Tiwanaku was one of the most important pre-Inca civilisations considered to have been the most developed at the time.
The main constructions you will then visit are: Kalasasaya temple, the Gate of the Sun; constructed out of stone, Ponce and Fraile monoliths, Akapana pyramid and semi-underground temple. There are two local museums to you could also visit which present historical pottery, stone work and cultural insight.
